Berry aperitif

It may be January 7th, but with temperatures above 10°C outside, spring is already knocking on the door. That really makes you crave a summer aperitif.

The following recipe comes from Eveline, a friend of the family.

The name is mine, as the drink still needs to be christened: Miss Gerry T. The word "Gerry" is a portmanteau of the words "gin" and "berry," and "T." is short for tonic. Yes, sometimes my creativity knows no bounds. 😀

The recipe is super simple because the drink can be "built" directly in the glass. This Gin & Tonic variation is perfect if you're expecting guests and want to serve a slightly bitter aperitif, but need it done quickly.

Long drink - built

Miss Gerry T.

  • 4 cl Gin Green Edition
  • 2 cl red berry liqueur
  • 2 cl lemon juice
  • 10-15 cl Indian Tonic

Fill a wine glass with ice cubes. Add the gin, liqueur, and lemon juice and stir briefly. Then top with tonic. Garnish with a lemon wedge.

For a fruitier result, you can also use 3 cl gin and 3 cl liqueur.
