I hadn't heard of alcoholic drinks with yogurt for a long time. That was until I heard about the signature drink of Milkmaids Gin (which, by the way, was created by bartender David Gran ). There, the Milkmaid Gin is shaken into a drink with yogurt. I was very curious, because yogurt usually comes to my table for breakfast or brunch.

A brunch as an occasion

For a Sunday brunch, I was thinking about a suitable drink. And then it came to me: yogurt and berries. Luckily, I usually have everything I need for spontaneous drink ideas on hand: spirits, in this case, the red berry liqueur , sugar syrup, and lemons.

Cocktail with yogurt

Cream in cocktails is something I'm perfectly familiar with – but yogurt?! But when you think about it more closely, it makes perfect sense, because yogurt adds a delicate texture to a drink, along with a bit of freshness and acidity. At the same time, it was immediately clear to me that a drink with yogurt should be shaken to ensure the liquids blend perfectly. For the lazy among you, stirring is fine, of course, but shaking is simply better. 😉 (Also because lemon juice is included in this recipe, and lemon and lime juice always benefit from being shaken up with oxygen.)

And another tip to make the drink a little nicer: Double the drink after shaking so that you don't have those fine ice chips in the drink, like in my picture.

Perfect drink for a Sunday brunch

Warning: dangerous. This seemingly light drink is actually a little dangerous. It's essentially three shot glasses of liqueur, but the yogurt makes it more like a smoothie. We think it's the perfect accompaniment to brunch.
