The medlar – harvested and sorted by hand, it is gently fermented and distilled. The result is a varietal rarity among fine brandies. Both on the nose and palate, this medlar brandy is reminiscent of pear and has earthy, nutty nuances. A gentle spiciness rounds out this fine brandy. A rare distillate for fruit brandy connoisseurs.
Production
The medlars are harvested in November at the earliest, when frosty nights soften the fruit. Naturally, the small fruits don't soften at the same time, so they must be sorted by hand daily. They are then mashed. Once the mash is fully fermented, it can be distilled. Like all our distillates, we naturally avoid any added flavorings or sugar.
Opened bottles should generally be emptied within a few months to a maximum of one year to avoid loss of flavor.
What is the correct storage?
For long-lasting enjoyment, you should always store a distillate in a dark, cool and upright place.

Drinking temperature
The best drinking temperature for BRENNLUST distillates is between 15 and 18°C.
Drink water before
Before tasting the distillate, drink some water first. This moistens the tongue and pores. If you drink schnapps when you are thirsty, the alcohol will attack the exposed pores on your tongue. 40% vol. will then quickly feel like 50% vol.
Not all at once
To experience most of the fruity aromas, it is recommended to enjoy the distillate in small sips. Simply drip it onto your tongue and the aromas will do the rest.
