The robust aroma of roasted hazelnuts unfolds even in the glass. On the palate, the flavor broadens even further, revealing hints of cocoa. These hazelnuts from Franconia are simply delicious.
This summer, Matthias and I traveled to Franconia to visit Martin Stiegeler, who runs the hazelnut farm "Franken GeNuss." Upon our arrival, Martin freshly roasted the hazelnuts for us and then ground them. The still-warm nuts went directly into the alcohol barrel and were then brought home to Lake Constance. There, we gently distilled the spirit.
Opened bottles should generally be emptied within a few months to a maximum of one year to avoid loss of flavor.
What is the correct storage?
For long-lasting enjoyment, you should always store a distillate in a dark, cool and upright place.

Die beste Trinktemperatur für BRENNLUST Destillate liegt zwischen 15 und 18°C.
Etwas Wasser dazu
Bevor du vom Destillat probierst, trinke zunächst Wasser. Das befeuchtet die Zunge bzw. die Poren. Würde man durstig einen Schnaps trinken, würde der Alkohol die freiliegenden Poren auf der Zunge geradezu attackieren. 40%vol. fühlen sich dann schnell wie 50%vol. an.
Nicht alles auf einmal
Um das meiste der fruchtigen Aromen zu erleben, empfiehlt es sich, das Destillat in kleinen Schlückchen zu genießen. Einfach die Zunge beträufeln und die Aromen übernehmen den Rest.
