Website relaunch - why?

Anyone who has known Brennlust for a long time and has visited the old website from time to time may be wondering why a relaunch of www.brennlust.de was necessary.
Very maintenance-intensive
The old website went online in 2016—yes, almost ten years ago. That was quite a while ago. Technology has evolved significantly in the meantime. The old technology is somewhat slower and more maintenance-intensive than the newer ones.
Complicated check-out
But the biggest criticism of the old website was the somewhat cumbersome checkout process, especially on smartphones. This cumbersome checkout process required patience from you, the customers. It would have been possible to completely redesign the checkout process. But that would have been time-consuming, very time-consuming.
The consequence: a relaunch
So we had to weigh up the options: Does it make sense to invest a lot more time (and money) into improving the checkout process? Or would it make more sense to rely on current technology—a technology that's the market leader in the shop space? You know the result. 😊
Painful farewell
We put a lot of time into the old website. The layout, in particular, has undergone dynamic changes over the past few years, and most of it was our own work. That makes saying goodbye a little difficult, but that's the way it is. The only constant is change.
